Calico Magazine host an all day Hip-Hop Event, filled with performances, and live graffiti art in Los Angeles !
LA, CA (Wednesday, September 12, 2007)- Calico Magazine teams up with Stones Throw, Up Above, Timeless Music, Kayaro Records and many more, to bring 'Fresh: A Day In The Life', at 33Third, the legendary Los Angeles music store! The independent magazine is proving it can make a big bang, regardless of it's size! Their latest project brings together some of Los Angeles ' finest hidden talents, for a free event.
Organizer and local underground legend Mark 7 is the man behind the concept, bringing his vision of the ultimate B-Boy party to one of L.A. 's most well know hip-hop spots, 33Third. With help from his numerous sponsors, 'Fresh' looks to be on of the hottest in-store of the year!
Zen R.EL.Z.M. of The Visionaries/Writer's Block will be in the house, as will Stones Throw artist and Hip-Hop icon, Percee P. Percee's new album 'Perseverance' drops this month, and you can expect to hear some new material! Trek Life brings his Timeless Music style to 'Fresh', and up and coming rap crew U-N-I will rock the spot and show why they are up for Urb Magazine's Next 100 list!
Kayaro Record songstress JhaVoice will perform songs from her indie released album 'Voice 2 Sing', complete with her international sound! Dr. Oop will bring his funked out style as well, representing for the Black Love Radiators crew and Bent Vinyl rounds out the performers!
If that wasn't enough, some of LA's best graffiti artist will be in the house, rocking the outside walls. Local legends REZ, Sinner,CR8,Make, Mark 7, Shiro, and Zuco will be getting busy on the walls, and music will be provided by DJS Lord Ron, Main Vybe, Tommy Blak (Project Blowed), DJ Shiro and DJ Money.
With this much talent lined up, the event has to be an all day affair! The doors open at 1 pm, Saturday, September 15th, 2007. If you're in Los Angeles , make sure you stop by and enjoy a day of Freshness!
