more details below about the film, and the Q & A panelists below:

Respond to Sound II is a feature documentary tracing the evolution of Black American street dance from 1760 to 1960 – a span of time that laid the foundation for hip hop dance today. It is an audio-visual collage of archival dance footage, interviews, and original beats featuring commentary from hip hop luminaries such as Krs-1, the Pharcyde, the Black-Eyed Peas, and others, alongside rare footage of the Nicolas Brothers, Sammy Davis Jr., Sandman Sims and more.  Respond to Sound II pays tribute to the tap dance and jazz hoofing masters of the past,  while unearthing some of the lesser known  roots of hip hop dance.

Respond to Sound II is the third ‘sample-based’ documentary produced by film-maker and freestyle dancer Adrian Younge. Younge samples original breaks with film images, synthesizing beats and film in a manner that breaks new ground in the world of audiovisual hip hop production. Respond to Sound II has screened at various film festivals throughout the country, and is now under consideration, by B.E.T for best hip hop documentary of the year. Additional producers include: Buddha Stretch, LEGENDARY, Carey Ysais, David Wong, and Mark Luv.
