Renowned restaurateur and club owner Unik Ernest will celebrate both the launch of his charity, Edeyo, and his 36th Birthday with an upscale celebrity dinner at his own 40’s inspired restaurant Gin Lane, NYC
NEW YORK, NY - On June 27th, Haitian born entrepreneur Unik Ernest will launch his charitable foundation, Edeyo and celebrate his 36th Birthday with an exclusive celebrity dinner celebration, silent auction and private after party at his very own Gin Lane restaurant and exclusive PM Lounge nightclub. The foundation, Edeyo, is an independent organization dedicated to improving the future of children in Haiti by rebuilding dilapidated schools, supplying students with learning materials and providing them with nutritional support. The mission is to help the children of Haiti gain an education in a clean and healthy environment. Edeyo will use monies raised to implement programs that will provide children with books, library, and in-school meal programs.
“I’m very excited about the launch of Edeyo. For me, it’s a natural match, because I have heartfelt conviction to give back to my country,” proclaims Ernest. “My success reflects my desire to overcome poverty, and I want to extend that same opportunity to those less fortunate then me.”
The celebrity auction dinner will begin at eight o’clock immediately followed by a private after party as award-winning actor/comedian Nick Cannon commands the turntables at PM Lounge. Sponsors of the auction include FedEx, Omega, Bvlgari, John Varvatos, Empire Merchants, Robert Mondavi, Valentino, Radio City’s “The Dream” Concert and Mark Baptiste among others. Unik will celebrate Edeyo’s first initiative with fifty of his closest friends in film, fashion and music including Petra Nemcova, Wyclef Jean, Russell Simmons, Mickey Rourke, Cuttino Mobley, Michael Strahan, and more.
Unik Ernest, a native of Haiti, embarked on his entrepreneurial journey in 1990, when his family’s move to Miami introduced him to the excitement of nightlife. Upon his arrival in New York in 1994, he and his brother produced their first major event, and since, Unik has gained a notable reputation for producing events that resonate through New York City and beyond. Currently, Unik is the proud owner of Caribbean inspired PM Lounge and 40’s inspired Gin Lane.
