The Foundation Magazine will debut its 3nd issue at an Issue Release Party at New York City ‘s Dirty Disco in Manhattan . This event will feature Jay-Z’s official DJ, Green Lantern, as well as Justo’s Mixtape Awards "Rookie of the Year" Superstar Jay, spinning live. Doors open at 8pm , with no cover but please RSVP at rsvp@foundationmag.com.
The Foundation Magazine’s third issue is packed with exclusive interviews with some of todays hottest and most talked about MCs and DJs in the industry and in the world. This includes: DJ Green Lantern, Michael "5000" Watts , Statik Selektah, Wally Sparks, Mick Boogie, Maino, JR Writer and many more. The magazine also provides product reviews, insightful editorials and extensive mixtape reviews.
The Foundation Magazine, the first and only full-size mixtape magazine, released their first issue in the spring of 2006 at the Core DJs Retreat in Houston , TX . Issue One featured the life and work of Justo Faison and also had interviews with DJ Vlad, Tony Touch and others. Issue Two was released at Justo’s Tenth Annual Mixtape Awards, held at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem . Not only were they an official sponsor of the Awards, but also held the official afterparty at Club Show in Manhattan , with a performance by the Clipse. The magazine was well received and highly praised for its unique format, which focuses solely on the mixtape culture, and the DJs and MCs who make up this vibrant part of the hip-hop community.
