Denise Destini, founder/CEO of the annual Phuturehype Female Rapper/MC Competition proudly announced on Monday the music video release for the highly infectious smash single 'Phuture Journey featuring last years five finalists RdotC, VdoubleE, Lexus, Oracle and Lioness.
In a statement Denise said, "initially there were no plans to release a music video along side the single, but I wanted the finalists to get as much as they possible could out of this experience. I later decided that giving them the opportunity to appear in their own music video would be the icing on top of the cake. Myself and the five finalists are extremely grateful to music video director Ben Peters from F2R Films. He did a magnificent job of visually showcasing each finalist in a positive and beautiful light".
The ‘Phuture Journey’ music video can currently be viewed on youtube.com and will make its debut on all major satellite/cable music networks at a later date.
Early last year Phuturehype entered in to a distribution partnership with UK based company putitonline.net . putitonline.net is a burgeoning company that allows artists, producers, and songwriters to upload their profiles, music, pictures and videos online. The company is steadily becoming one of the fastest growing musical entertainment networks out there, and is the place to visit if you also wish to download/listen to ‘Phuture Journey’.
The first Female Rapper/MC Competition took place in May 2004 and generated immense media attention. British weekend entertainment show T4 featured the finals in the documentary, Chancers which also featured Fat Man Scoop, Damon Dash, Ashanti, Wyclef, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck. The aim of the documentary was to find six talented artists, fly them over to New York, and see if they were able to succeed in cracking the hardest music market in the world, all under the watchful eye of Fat Man Scoop.
The competition has helped to launch the careers of 2004 runner up Lady Sovereign, who then went on to sign with Universal / Def Jam Records, and 2005 finalist NChyx won the BBC Radio 1, 16 Bar Mic Challenge in late 2006.
Phuturehype has also been featured in The New Nation (Britain's number 1 black newspaper), Dazed & Confused, The Voice Newspaper, and on the BBC One Music website, WriteOnPoint.co.uk , Rapnews.co.uk, Ragomagazine.com, and 360-x.co.uk.
