New York,NY November 29, 2006— Emmitt Thrower is the owner and president of the non-profit Wabi Sabi Productions. With the Re-opening of Katrina: A Whole Lotta Water just around the corner on Dec 14th his organization and their sponsor Fractured Atlas anticipates a lot of buzz about the off Broadway play. The play features the original music of Rap/Activist "Shakka" and his popular Katrina song "So Much Water". After a successful run in November the show has been extended for 5 shows. The show then tours Baltimore, Md in January 2007.

Emmitt Thrower is a recipient of the 21st Century Independent Spirit Award in culture and the chairman of the Otto Awards for political theater. He is also one of the founding organizers of Five Points Productions Theater, collaboration between diverse theater companies uniting to produce political theater on 42nd Street.

Emmitt’s goal artistically is to find diamonds in the rough and help develop them, and then release them into the universe. Katrina: A Whole Lotta Water will bring attention to many performers, but more importantly to a crisis that is ongoing in the affected areas that the hurricane devastated.

The focus of the multimedia event will surround the deep social issues around such a life-changing event and help those unaffected by its far-reaching destruction to come to an understanding of how important it is to feel the pain and suffering of others and count their blessings for what they have. Many life situations can be set to music and dance and this is no exception, in fact, the play brings it all home straight to the heart, and that is the hope and intent of its creators.
