NEW YORK, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ — Armand de Brignac Champagne, an ultra-luxury product in the high-end champagne category, has been spotted in the climactic scene of recording artist Jay-Z’s video for his song "Show Me What You Got." This is the first single from the rapper’s highly-anticipated record KINGDOM COME, slated for release next month.
Armand de Brignac, also called "Ace of Spades", "Gold Bottle", or simply "Ace" for short, is characterized by a striking, solid gold-plated bottle and a dramatic Ace of Spades-shaped label in pewter. The brand is making its North American debut this year, after enjoying success as a premium, high-end brand in France. Vinted at a family estate in the tiny village of Chigny-les- Roses in the French countryside, Armand is being imported into the U.S. for distribution by the Manhattan-based company of the same name.
In the James Bond-style video for "Show Me What You Got", Jay-Z races Lamborghinis in Monaco with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Danica Patrick before racing speedboats to a private island. Upon docking, Jay-Z hands a mysterious silver attache case to a female attendant and makes his way to a party, where he drops a rhyme about Armand – "Gold Bottles of that Ace of Spades." – while holding the Champagne bottle.
The video then cuts to a card game, whereupon a waiter brings Jay-Z a bottle of another popular champagne brand, one he had endorsed on previous albums. Jay-Z motions for the bottle to be sent back, and the silver briefcase reappears. It’s opened to reveal the Armand de Brignac gold bottle. This is not a case of product placement as Armand de Brignac and Jay-Z have not entered into any agreement, sponsorship or otherwise.
"We’re delighted to have someone of Jay-Z’s stature include Armand de Brignac in the first video for his new album," said Armand de Brignac President/CEO Brett Berish. "Jay-Z has always demonstrated the highest standards and finest taste, and we’re honored to see Armand make an appearance in ‘Show Me What You Got.’ Armand’s unmatched taste and package are a perfect fit for the video."
With a limited supply of Armand de Brignac available, as well as the demand fueled by the "Show Me What You Got" video, the exclusive champagne is only available in limited quantities through direct arrangements with the importer.
