Smilez & Southstar Back By Popular Demand with “U KNOW”
Orlando, Florida (June 10, 2006) Hip-Hop duo Smilez & Southstar (S&S) are ready and set to continue their reign. As they emerge from the sunshine state and back into the music industry, radio DJ’s, club DJ’s, strip clubs, loyal fans and soon-to-be-fans are guaranteed non-stop head-bobbing with the release of their new self-titled album “Smilez & Southstar.”
Gaining a seamless momentum with a new label (TC Records), a new swagger and new heat S&S are eager to release their highly anticipated single “U Know,” July 18, 2006. “I’m excited about this album. We’ve had close to 3 years to put this album together compared to 3 months for the first album. It’s so much more personal, but we’ll also still keep you in the clubs partying wit us!” smiled Southstar.
Just a few summers ago, we all grooved to the S&S hit single “Tell Me” from their first album “Crash The Party.” That very single climbed the Billboard charts landing them a top spot on BET’s Rap City with a swift follow-up performance on 106&Park. From gracing the covers of magazines to body-rocking audiences across the globe, Smilez&Southstar have a proven record of making it happen in the rap game. With a solid second time around, Smilez & Southstar embrace the music with soaring energy and passion to do it like they never have. “I know for a fact we rocked the industry our first time out the gate, so they better brace themselves because round two is going to be an even heavier knock out!” replied Smilez.
Recently Smilez & Southstar attended Twista’s Bottles & Models Memorial Day Weekend in Miami where they premiered their new video “U Know” amongst many of the celebrity guests including Twista, Slim Thug, Styles P, Lil Scrappy, Buffie the Body and Hoopz. Southstar says, “As far as returning to the industry, in a way I feel like we never left. We just been sitting back observing, learning and waiting for the right opportunity. Now that all the legal issues are done with, we are ready to take the game back and prove why we belong here. And I promise we will have everyone yelling, U-U-U-U-U Know!!!”
