Silver Spring, MD – Wednesday, June 21, 2006 – Since the release of “The Soulful Rebellion Part 1″, Brooklyn has been very supportive of Soul Rebel. So on Saturday, June 10 th, 2006, Soul Rebel graced the stage of both the “Self-Love Campaign” at The Five Spot (http://www.fivespotsoulfood.com), and the “10th Annual Brooklyn Pride Festival and Parade” in Prospect Park as a means of giving back.
“The Self-Love Campaign” was produced by CollaborativeMoves.org and sponsored by HealthFirst, LifeBeat, Triple Five Soul, The Brooklyn Museum, AVE Magazine, The Shield, The Children’s Aid Society, and So Live Arts. The event featured various acts including Soul Rebel and headliner, The Boot Camp Click. The goal of “The Self Love Campaign” was to empower youth via the message of self love and health awareness. Free HIV testing and health care info was also distributed at the event.
After rocking “The Self Love Campaign”, Soul Rebel headlined the 10th Annual Brooklyn Pride Festival and Parade. Before a crowd of more than 500 concert goers, Soul Rebel tore through their set to a standing ovation. Soul Rebel Performed their recent 9 th Wonder produced songs “Lonely” and “In Love” as well as their hit “Sincerely Yours”. The Brooklyn Pride Festival and Parade was sponsored by Starbucks, Bank of America, and New York City radio station WKTU.
