Soul Rebel Featured in Hip-Hop Play 'Samurai' and Mic Sean Selected by Motorola and Boost Mobile
Silver Spring , MD – Wednesday, April 26, 2006 – "If It Could Sing", a song written and performed by Mic Sean of Soul Rebel was recently featured in the Hip-Hop musical 'Samurai' which debuted at the University of Maryland – College Park on Thursday, April 13, 2006. Written by Jasmine Coles, 'Samurai' follows the ascent of an independent rap group. As they experience increasing success, life takes a turn for the worst when it is discovered that one of the group members is a homosexual. "If It Could Sing" is portrayed as the fictional group's lead single.
In addition to having his song featured in 'Samurai', Mic Sean of Soul Rebel was recently chosen by Motorola and Boost Mobile as one of twenty-five tastemakers from across the United States to receive an all expenses paid visit to New York City. During the visit Mic Sean took part in various panels during which he conversed with some of the industry's heavy hitters, such as Timbaland and Questlove to name a few.
Lastly, after taking some time off to focus on new recordings and other obligations, Soul Rebel is ready to touch the stage again. Actively pursuing dates through the summer months, Soul Rebel has already partnered up with The Lucky Cat in Brooklyn, NY to perform at the May 6th event entitled "love.LIFE.lyrics", and with Mirrors in Washington, DC to perform at the May 9th event "Pookie's Gallery".
